About the department

The impact of Technological advancements on human life is not complete without the role of Information Technology, along all axes. Hence all-pervading nature of Information Technology is culminated with huge demand for education in the said field. The steady rise in the number of students opting to specialize in Information Technology is a testimony for that. Education in Information Technology imparts the knowledge through which the needs of users within an organizational and societal context can be met.

Our vision for information technology is to create an environment where all students, faculty and staff have easy access to the information technology resources and information they need, and to provide an information technology infrastructure that supports the institutional goals identified in Toward 2016...

Mission

We are dedicated to providing James college with the technology services it needs to fulfill its commitment to research and education of the highest quality. We anticipate and meet the information technology needs of alumni, students, faculty, and staff as they pursue their educational and professional goals.

Short term goal

  • To increase the overall pass percentage
  • To conduct technical and personality development program for the students
  • To shape the overall personality of the student
  • To encourage the students to update their technical skills according to the industry expectation

Long term goal

  • To produce top university rank holders
  • To achieve 100% placement for our students

Objectives

  • Demonstrate sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering for analysing complex problems and develop appropriate solutions
  • Will be able to understand the professional code of ethics and demonstrate ethical behaviour, effective communication, team work and leadership skills in their job and career

Laboratories

The Laboratory undertakes research in a broad range of subjects within the disciplines of Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics. Current research areas include bioinformatics, computer architecture, computer vision, distributed systems, graphics, logic and semantics, machine learning, natural language processing, networking and wireless communication, operating systems and virtualization, programming, security, and sustainable computing.
