JAMCET – THE JAMES COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY under the prestigious Anna University in Tamil Nadu – where I had graduated in B.Tech in Information Technology and proud of being the first ever batch of students of this college – a college tucked within picturesque hills and lush green paddy fields in a place called Navalkadu near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district.

The way in which you grow up, mature, and find out who you really are, is something you can’t accomplish without going to college. The feelings of being homesick, the loneliness of not knowing anyone, the pressure of playing games you don’t know, living with someone you have never met before, were just some of the struggles while entering the college for the first time. Thankfully, meeting great friends at our JAMCET and starting to enjoy life away from home, was making James College of Engineering & Technology one of the best experiences of my life.

The time at JAMCET was filled with wonderful discoveries; and the related effect brought on by the workload were doubts and curiosities.  I was away from the parental warmth which my home had provided for me over the previous years. The new experience at our JAMCET had given mean excellent chance to sharpen my skills in my field of choice. There were numerous opportunities at the JAMCET to learn more ways of improving

my craft abundantly, which I am truly thankful for. My unique experience at the James College of Engineering & Technology had been rewarding, and I am often called to put my hard earned technological knowledge—learned through four years of systematic learning—to use.

In summary, my time at JAMCET has enriched my life in many ways. It has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my abilities and personality development to a remarkable level. JAMCET taught me valuable knowledge about this diverse world and people and concepts in general and eventually enabled me to become successful in life after I finally graduated. It also has stressed to me the importance of thinking  critically and asking questions in many situations. All these aspects of this college have also made me better-rounded as a person. These experiences are truly irreplaceable and I would not trade them for anything. If I could go back in time and speak to my much younger self when I was first asked the question, “What has been your best experience?” the baby-faced version of me would certainly have been surprised by what my answer is – “life at JAMCET”.

Since graduating in 2011, I have worked in ARIC Technologies Limited as Associated Software Engineer, Alamy Images as Web Designer and presently I am with Allianz UK as Systems Analyst.

I still long to be part of the JAMCET family in its future journeys to advancement of technology and I wish one and all fabulous years ahead.
